The Program Coordinator, Dragonfly Pond Family Society is responsible for the development and implementation of a broad range of community initiatives, fundraising and outreach programs that support the mission and strategic direction of Dragonfly Pond Family Society.

Reporting directly to the board of directors, the Program Coordinator will successfully implement a wide range of community focused programs and initiatives that will result in an enhanced community profile, sustainable funding and program participation for Dragonfly Pond Family Society.


Responsible for creating sustainable long-term support including grant applications and the soliciting, cultivation and stewardship of donors and prospective donors.
Makes presentations and conducts face-to-face meetings to build relationships and solicit financial support with donors, prospective donors, service groups, municipal government on the need for capital and operational support.
Develops and implements, with the board of directors, an annual fundraising plan for the society integrated with planned programs ensuring all targets are met. This will include development of new and existing donor relationships, the execution of fundraising events as well as supporting volunteer-led events in the community.

Acts as a spokesperson for Dragonfly Pond on multiple platforms including social media

Regularly liaises with media representatives on the status of programs, fundraising and other ways the society supports the community.
Develops, coordinates and supervises community outreach activities that ensure high visibility, brand recognition and regular exposure of Dragonfly Pond Family Society in the community.
Represents Dragonfly Pond at community events, seeking advantageous partnerships with community businesses, vendors and individuals. Seeks opportunities to promote the society at community events in order to strengthen relationships with corporate sponsors and donors.

Leads volunteers for community outreach and fundraising activities:
Responds to inquiries regarding the volunteer program.
Works with the Board of Directors to develops and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers for community outreach and fundraising activities.  
Supervises community outreach volunteers in performance of duties, providing them continuous feedback. Implements recognition initiatives to celebrate successes and achievements.
Replies to public/donor/current and prospective member inquiries in a courteous, efficient and professional manner providing a high level of personalized customer service; providing information satisfactory to the needs of the customer and assists in resolving escalated customer service complaints in a timely manner.
Effectively manages programs ensuring constant review of expenses and revenues to ensure that the Society meets financial targets.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Applicable post-secondary education plus 2-4 years’ related experience with a minimum 2 years’ experience doing community outreach, including fundraising; some supervisory and media experience is preferred
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the Employer
Possession of a valid unrestricted Class 5 BC driver’s license
Experience/interest working with children/children with complex care needs preferred 
Demonstrated ability to organize work, meet priorities and to work within a demanding work schedule with minimal supervision
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a positive manner
Proficient Computer skills – Windows, MS Office incl. PowerPoint and Excel
