OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre (OSNS) is a vibrant, non-for-profit organization with a long history of providing clinical habilitation / rehabilitation and support services to children and their families. We work in a family centered, child focused environment with a strong sense of team at all levels. We are continuously evolving to incorporate best practices and provide excellence in care.

 

What we are looking for:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for cultivating strong relationships in our communities to further the strategic mission of OSNS. This includes collaborating with the executive team to identify key priorities, representing OSNS at critical community events, speaking to various groups about the services OSNS offers, encouraging the participation of volunteers, event planning, and management of OSNS social media presence. 

 

Children are busy and fast paced – so are we. We are looking for someone who operates with a high level of detail and organization. This role will give you the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and will require that you represent our Centre’s vision and values with spirit and professionalism.

 

Every week of work will be different and you will navigate your way with enthusiasm, problem-solving skills and humour. Flexibility, curiosity, creativity, and multi-tasking are key given the ever-evolving nature of our work in pediatrics.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop, implement and analyze marketing strategies and campaigns

  • Create and administer external print and digital communications (ie, e-blasts, quarterly newsletters, promotional materials, press releases ,ads, Annual Report, etc.) to a variety of target audiences including donors, volunteers, partners,  community leaders, official, media, etc.

  • Develop and manage graphics and design projects for a variety of print and digital needs, ensuring consistency of messaging and Brand Strategy Guidelines

  • Manage content, administration and analytics of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and OSNS website, to increase engagement and awareness of target audiences

  • Manage and execute signature events to meet fundraising goals, inspire engagement, and provide high quality guest experiences, including the OSNS Sponsor Appreciation Night, annual Share a Smile Telethon, Harley Davidson Motorcycle Raffle, Wildstone Colours4Kids 5k run and    Area 27 Cars for a Cause and other revenue-based events

    • Includes all aspects of event administration, including but not limited to: planning / executing event logistics; managing vendors,  volunteers, committees and / or staff; event software management; photography as needed; event promotion; sponsor /donor outreach &    recognition; and budget / event analysis

    • Support external fundraising events with community partners as needed

  • Provide support for outreach & recognition events as needed

  • Support community outreach, campaign  /donor development, community impact and operations as needed, in support of overall OSNS mission

  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with community groups, agencies and corporate partners taking initiative to reach out to prospective donors, communicating vision and mission to build local awareness

  • Ensures individual acknowledgments are executed in a manner that celebrates contributors

  • Responsible for conducting full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals

  • Coordinate community committee meetings, including communications, meeting material, action items for follow-up and meeting minutes

 

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with a concentration in marketing or communications preferred

 

Skills & Experience

  • Positive and friendly interpersonal and customer service skills, with a dedication and passion for serving the community

  • Effectively promotes opportunities and partnerships through excellent public speaking, presentations and face-to-face networking

  • Adaptable to dynamic work environments with strong multi-tasking & prioritization skills

  • Advanced computer skills and high proficiency will all Microsoft Office products

  • Expertise in web design, graphic design and social media

  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to master new database and web-based programs

  • Experience with medium to large scale event planning and implementation required

  • Cross-functional project management experience

  • 3 years marketing experience preferred

  • Our Community Engagement Coordinator should, at the very least, enjoy being around children 😊

 

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of an acceptable Criminal Record Search is required

  • Valid driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract

  • Please note this position has occasional night and / or weekend commitments to represent OSNS at events or outreach opportunities
