Child & Youth Mental Health Clinician

CHILD & YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN
Permanent – Full-Time 35 hours per week
Keremeos, BC

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society, in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Child and Youth Mental Health Services, is seeking a qualified individual to provide specialized mental health assessment and treatment services to children, youth and families when the child or youth are suffering serious emotional, psychological, behavioural and/or psychiatric illness.

Hours: 35 per week
Starting Wage: $33.06/hr, plus a comprehensive benefit package
(Grid 17, Step 1, UFCW Community Agreement)

Qualifications: education, training and experience
 MSW (Clinical Specialization or equivalent training/education), or comparable graduate degree at Master’s level.
 2 years clinical experience working in child and youth mental services, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
 Education or training in program planning, group facilitation and working with families and young children in conditions of risk.
 An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
 BC Class 5 Driver’s licence and access to an adequately insured reliable vehicle for work purposes
 Clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program is required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); proficient use of computer and other IT; knowledge of child development, parenting, family systems, family violence, cross-cultural issues, community resources, group facilitation skills; and conflict resolution skills.

Adult Day Program Coordinator

ADULT DAY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society (LSCSS) is seeking an experienced Activity Coordinator/Care Aid to Coordinate Adult Day Program (ADP) services in Keremeos. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Adult Day Program Coordinator will develop, implement and participate in the delivery of supportive group programs and activities for seniors and people with disabilities.

ADP services include transportation, admission & client care planning, snacks & refreshments, nutritious meals, recreation and social activities, personal care and assistance with activities of daily living. Service will be delivered within Kyalami Place Assisted Living.

Qualifications include:
• BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registration;
• Recreation Training,
• 2 years supervisory experience,
• First Aid Certification;
• Food Safe Level 1; and
• Clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program.

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society is seeking a Relief Assisted Living Coordinator to provide service oversight and coordination to staff and residents of our 14 unit assisted living residence.

The Assisted Living Coordinator oversees the delivery of services that support independence and quality of life for residents. Under direction, coordinates all assisted living services including personal care, social / recreational programs, hospitality services, and emergency response. Oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the building by performing duties such as: ensuring adherence to assisted living legislation; contractual requirements; residence policies and procedures; supervising staff & scheduling; and ensuring residence maintenance and safety. The Assisted Living Coordinator reports to the Society Executive Director or designate.

The Relief Coordinator will provide coverage for the Assisted Living Coordinator’s sick and vacation leaves, and as may be required by operational needs.
