ASSISTED LIVING WORKER
Line 6N – Nights – Permanent 0.8 FTE (avg 24 hrs/week nights only)
$20.05 per hour (plus a benefit package)

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society (LSCSS) is seeking the right individual who would prefer a night only shift. Working 23:30 – 7:30, the Assisted Living Worker provides personal care services to residents at Kyalami Place Assisted Living in Keremeos. Duties include: resident care, housekeeping, laundry, and life enrichment activities.
Qualifications include: BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registration; First Aid Certification; Food Safe Level 1; and Clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program.
Line 6 is currently structured for rotating Days, Afternoons and Nights. Applicants interested in the existing schedule are encouraged to apply.

Deputy Fire Chief of Administration – Penticton, BC

The City of Penticton’s Fire Services Department is in search of a highly skilled and energetic individual for the full-time permanent position of Deputy Fire Chief of Administration. Fire Services supports a safe community and enhances the quality of life for the citizens by responding to emergencies to help minimize injuries and loss of life or damage to property. Fire Services also helps to prevent fires and other emergencies through public education and inspections to ensure properties meet fire regulations and other safety requirements. Reporting to the Fire Chief, as a key member of the management team, the Deputy Fire Chief of Administration will assist in providing vision and leadership to the Penticton Fire Department that is a composite department comprised of a Fire Chief, 2 Deputy Fire Chiefs, 32 full time IAFF members and 40 Auxiliary Firefighters. Fire Services provides protective, investigative and inspection services for a dynamic and growing population of about 43,000 people in a protection area of approximately 42 square kilometres. The key operational and management duties include budgeting, purchasing, shift schedules, payroll, finance, reporting, presentations, media, and operations support and direction.

Stopping the Violence Counsellor

STOPPING THE VIOLENCE COUNSELLOR
PERMANENT PART-TIME
17.5 hours/week

Lower Similkameen Community Services Society is seeking an experienced Counsellor to provide individual and/or group counselling for women who have experienced sexual assault, violence/abuse in relationships, or childhood abuse. The Stopping the Violence (STV) Women’s Counsellling Program provides services to clients in the Keremeos, Cawston, Hedley and Olalla areas.

The wage for this position is $30.70/hour plus a comprehensive benefit package
(UFCW Grid 15, unclassified); 17.5 hours per week.

Required education, training and experience
 Degree or diploma in Social Work, counselling, or a related discipline, and/or extensive work-related experience under qualified supervision and experience with direct program delivery in the community/social service sector
 Experience counselling women who have experienced abuse and trauma
 Grief and crisis intervention training is an asset
 Ability to use a computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software
 Must have the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
 Use of personal vehicle with a valid Class 5 Drivers License and a clean drivers abstract
 Group facilitation skills
 Clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program is required
