It’s been a rocky road for many businesses since the COVID-19 spring shutdown. Pandemic restrictions meant a slow start for tourism in Penticton. And now that the summer tourist season has wrapped up, how are local businesses feeling about the months ahead?

A new survey aims to find out. The City of Penticton, Travel Penticton, the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Penticton Association have joined together to release the Hospitality Business Impact Survey, available at

The City first surveyed South Okanagan businesses in April at the height of the pandemic. Now, the partners seek to gauge how service industry businesses fared this summer and their views of the coming months.

At this time, they’re only looking for feedback from hospitality businesses (this includes retailers, restaurants, wineries, craft breweries, tour operators, outdoor adventure companies, hotels and Airbnb operators, entertainment companies and more).

Penticton business owners and operators are invited to fill out the survey at before October 12, 2020. All results are anonymous and registration is not required.
