After celebrating one year in business in Penticton, Community Futures asked Jon Cote to summarize what he learned this past year.
Throughout the year, Craft Corner Kitchen received great recognition and accolades for the talent they brought to both their kitchen and bar programs. As much as they were getting recognition from their peers in the industry, they noticed that they were missing the mark with their market, Penticton and area locals. It was time to consider a secondary market and get in touch with what they believe this market is looking for without compromising their beliefs in supporting local. Jon hunkered down and made a few changes to the menu formats and style of food being offered. Before making these changes public, he ensured his staff embraced these changes and believed in the new direction.
Craft Corner Kitchen has a great trendy space to launch Penticton’s first authentic Gastropub. Gastropubs have typical pub fares made with quality ingredients and unique twists.
“In an area surrounded by great resources, it’s important for us to showcase them,” said Jon Cote, owner of Craft Corner Kitchen. “We welcome professional Chef Ian Stilborn, formerly of Liquidity Bistro in OK Falls, to orchestrate the food menu that we will be launching at the beginning of October. The menu will consist of many appetizers made for sharing, featured sandwiches and composed dinner dishes to enjoy with a nice bottle of wine, BC crafted beer or one of my award-winning cocktails.”
Craft Corner Kitchen will offer a $5 happy hour menu (food and drinks) from 4pm-6pm every day and will stay open late every night.
