Hands up if you have recently returned to an artistic hobby? Or maybe you simply have more time to appreciate the beauty of music, painting and other imaginative creations?

Here are some creative ways the Penticton & District Community Arts Council is ensuring you can access the arts – no matter who or where you are.

This is also an important time to support our local artists, or the budding artists within. All donations to the PDCAC’s COVID-19 Arts Fund go directly back into the community. Your $10 donation will provide one art supply pack for a child or senior in need and a $100 donation will support an online event featuring a local artist.

Art supply care packs

This wonderful project involves creating free art supply care packages that will be distributed to 175 children and 80 seniors throughout the community. They will go to social groups including SOWINS, SOICS, Better at Home, OneSky, Foundry Penticton and more.

Dream Now, Visit Later colouring book

The Dream Now, Visit Later colouring book will feature iconic Penticton locations designed by local artists. Launching soon, this free and downloadable book will be posted on the Visit Penticton website, through the PDCAC’s Arts Matter Online, and will be advertised across the Okanagan and beyond.

In-house printed copies will be included in the care packs mentioned above.

Arts Matter Online

Exploring the arts – from the comfort of your couch – has never been easier. Arts Matter Online offers online events, digital downloads and live Facebook concerts.

Online exhibitions

Visit pentictonartscouncil.com to view online exhibitions, including the newly released CanwaxWest’s Brilliant Moments. This fascinating exhibit profiles the work of more than 30 artists from around the world who specialize in encaustic (hot beeswax) painting.

A big thank you to the Arts Council for making art easily accessible for all!
